Frequently asked questions
How do I record from the Apple Watch?
Open Reverb Journal on your Apple Watch and press the record button. You can record even when your iPhone is not nearby: the note is saved on the watch and passes to the iPhone when they find each other again. If you do not see the app on your watch, check in the Watch app on your iPhone that Reverb Journal is installed.
What is the recovery key and where do I find it?
It is a personal key, made of 14 groups of 4 characters, that lets you recover your journal if you lose all of your devices. You will find it in Settings, Privacy, Recovery key. Reverb cannot recover it for you: if you lose it along with access to your devices, your journal may never open again. Keep it safe, preferably outside the Apple ecosystem, for example in a password manager, in a file or on paper.
How do I export my journal?
In Settings, Privacy, tap Export my journal. It creates an encrypted backup with your notes, audio, photos and videos and your day narration; the app checks that it is complete before handing it to you. It is created on your device and stays wherever you save it, for example in Files; Reverb does not receive a copy. To open it on another device, with Restore from a backup, you need your recovery key.
Can I see my journal on another iPhone or iPad?
In this version your journal lives only on the device where you created it; the app does not sync it with iCloud. To move it to another device, export a backup and restore it there with your recovery key.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Reverb Journal and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep the benefits until the end of the period you already paid for. Reverb cannot cancel it for you because Apple handles the billing; refunds are also handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How many notes does the Free plan transcribe?
Recording is never blocked. The Free plan transcribes 8 notes a day during your first week and 5 a day after that, up to 75 a month; the rest are saved in full and wait their turn.
If I cancel, what happens to my memories?
You keep all of them. What you already recorded, transcribed and narrated stays on your device: you can read it, listen to it and export it. What changes is the allowance: you go back to the Free plan, where recording is never blocked and your device transcribes 8 notes a day during your first week and 5 a day after that, up to 75 a month. Anything you record beyond that is saved in full and waits its turn until your allowance renews.
I deleted a note, can I get it back?
What you delete (notes, journals or media files) goes to a trash for 30 days. Within that period you can restore it. After that it is removed from the app and we can no longer recover it, because we do not have a copy of your content.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
Only for the draft of your day and for “The good of today” (“Lo bueno de hoy” in Spanish), which need a device that supports Apple Intelligence; both are generated on your device. On other devices you record, type, listen and read just the same. Transcription uses the languages your device has available.
What data does Reverb have about me?
Your content stays on your device, encrypted, and there is no Reverb account. All that reaches us is technical error reports, with nothing from your content, and the confirmation of your purchases, which Apple processes and our server verifies without any data from your journal. You control the reports with the “Send technical diagnostics (no content)” switch in Settings, Privacy. The details are in the privacy policy.
